Press conference on the development of Russian-African relations

Russia—Africa Summit: 100 days after

A press conference on the development of Russian-African relations

In October 2019, Sochi held the first Russia-Africa summit in recent history, which became a landmark event both for our country and for the African continent. Declarations indicate priorities for cooperation in the largest scale.

What contributes to building a more solid institutional foundation of Russian-African cooperation? What facilitates the development and strengthening of political, trade and economic as well as social relations between Russia and the countries of the African continent? What areas of interaction with other international partners can open the Russian-African track?

How to delineate the inevitability of competition of external players on African platforms and the imperatives of cooperation between them? Does return to Africa give Russia an advantage in relations with partners in the East and West? What are the prospects for bridging the differences on a number of issues between Russia and its potential partners through the Russian-African vector?
