5 November 2020, Moscow will host the II Russian-African Public Forum (RAPF 2020).
The forum is organized by the “Africa Business Initiative” UNION and the World Alumni Association.
The event is part of the Russia’s international strategy to develop and strengthen trade, economic, social and cultural relations with the countries of the African continent, as well as to build a stronger institutional foundation for Russian-African cooperation.
The first Russian-African Public Forum was held on October 22, 2018. The event received wide media coverage and was also very positively received by African partners. Russian and African participants are still noting the significant impact of the forum on the establishment and development of the widest range of further Russian-African relations. The Forum showed that the format of such discussions is in high demand today, and therefore it was decided to hold it on an annual basis.
The organization of such a “Russian-African” public dialogue has become a unique, very timely, promising and important confirmation of our friendly relations with the African continent and one of the resources to attract the attention of public organizations, business community, media and state institutions of both Russia and Africa to the comprehensive development of relations in all areas of activity.
The dialogue of civil societies in the global context is an integral and essential part of all areas of interaction, as well as an additional tool for promoting, inter alia, the interests of economic, political and humanitarian cooperation. The 2020 Forum will provide for a wider reach of the audience of participants, expanding the presence of countries on the African continent, as well as the agenda and content of the event, which will include topics of humanitarian interaction, environmental protection, regional interaction, education of modern youth, development of volunteering, along with expansion of multilateral cooperation in the field of public diplomacy with Africa within the framework of the international alliances of the SCO, EAEU, BRICS, etc.
A rich business and cultural program will be developed for the forum participants; there will be a space for holding round tables, open discussions, business meetings, negotiations and exchange of views.
